Year In Review – 2016

  • Students gained an average of 4 months in reading growth during our Summer Academic Program 2016
  • 45 students enrolled in our Adult Education Program last year; 10 students graduated
  • In the last year 1,467 individuals signed up for membership at the Mary Kelly Center
  • 3,550 books were sent home in 2016 with children in our various education programs
  • Volunteers gave over 14,000 hours towards literacy efforts with kids in our education programs
  • 238,500 healthy meals were served to students in the KC area through our catering kitchen

One hundred percent of youth respondents said “YES!” when asked if they learned to read better in the summer, and if they had fun and learned new things.
